EVANSTON, IL -- The Wisconsin Badgers (6-2, 3-2 Big Ten) are in town this weekend to take on the host Northwestern Wildcats (4-4, 3-2 Big Ten) at Ryan Field.
Both teams are in the thick of things of the Big Ten West, but neither control its own destiny. That privilege belongs to the the Nebraska Cornhuskers, who are in Columbus to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes this weekend.
For Northwestern to have success, Justin Jackson has to get going early; the star junior running back found success in the month of October after a slow start, and if he can find some holes early, it will make life much easier for Clayton Thorson and his potent passing attack, led by standout wide receiver Austin Carr and superback Garrett Dickerson.
Defensively, Northwestern will have its hands full with Corey Clement and Dare Ogunbowale and a gigantic offensive line. The Badgers also employ a two-quarterback system, with Alex Hornibrook getting the majority of the snaps under center but Bart Houston also seeing the field.
