Northwestern basketball senior day ceremony: Alex Olah, Tre Demps, Joey van Zegeren honored at Welsh-Ryan

EVANSTON — Prior to Northwestern basketball's regular season finale Sunday vs. Nebraska, the program honored its three seniors, Alex Olah, Tre Demps and Joey van Zegeren. Head coach Chris Collins, athletic director Jim Phillips and university president Morton Schapiro greeted the players and their families at midcourt.

Here's video of the ceremony in full:

Olah took the court alongside his parents and other family members, who flew in from Romania for the occasion. It's their first time in the United States. Northwestern Athletics captured video of Olah greeting his family on Friday.

Demps took the court alongside not only his parents, but his wife, Heather. The two were married this past summer.

Both Demps and Olah were Bill Carmody recruits — Demps is a fifth-year senior, Olah a fourth-year senior — but both have blossomed under Chris Collins.

For more on Olah and Demps, our Zach Pereles spoke with both players and wrote an excellent feature on the two as they get set to play their last game at Welsh-Ryan Arena.
