When Josh Pastner left Memphis to head to Georgia Tech, it looked like a door might have opened for Northwestern. Illinois' Mr. Basketball, Charlie Moore, was originally a Memphis recruit, but with Pastner out, he decommitted, reopening his recruitment. Northwestern was among the first schools to make the call.

Unfortunately for Wildcat fans, the hunt for Moore only heated up, and as he announced on his Twitter Wednesday, the list of schools he's considering is down to eight. Northwestern is not one of the eight.

Northwestern is set to host Canyon Berry this weekend, as Luke Srodulski of Wildcat Digest originally reported, though at the moment, Northwestern does not have a scholarship to offer.
