Four-star quarterback Kasim Hill commits to Maryland

Four-star quarterback and Northwestern target Kasim Hill committed to Maryland on Saturday afternoon. He announced his commitment via Twitter, using the live streaming app Periscope:

Hill was one of two quarterbacks left on the board for the Wildcats. The Baltimore product visited Evanston just last weekend for the third time but will stay close to home at Maryland. It looks like Pat Fitzgerald and co. are now all in on three-star quarterback Jack Sears, who picked up Duke and Washington offers within the past week.

Northwestern is also up against Arizona, Vanderbilt, Boston College, Utah, Tennessee, Colorado, Arizona State, Kansas State, and Oregon State, among others, for Sears' commitment. Fitzgerald likes to get one quarterback in each class, and the lack of a QB commitment thus far is the only blemish on an otherwise stellar 2017 recruiting class.

Northwestern can hope for the best on Sears, one of the top quarterbacks in California, but expect the Wildcats to potentially offer another quarterback as a backup option.
