Last year, it was "Seinfeld" star Julia Louis-Dreyfus. This year, it's Lou Malnati β€” yes, that Lou Malnati β€” as the newest person with familial connections to aΒ Northwestern basketball walk-on.

Per Teddy Greenstein of the Chicago Tribune, Lou's grandson Tino Malnati, a 6-foot-3 point guard, will be joining the Northwestern basketball team this upcoming season as a walk-on.

Last year,Β Charlie Hall, the son of Louis-Dreyfus and Brad Hall, joined the Wildcats as a walk-on. He saw action in eight games as a freshman.

Tino is a pass-first point guard from New Trier High School who had Division II and Division III offers, according to the article. His father, Rick, coached at New Trier from 1999-2008. Tino's known for having theΒ "coach's kid" basketball IQ as well.

The first Lou Malnati'sΒ opened in the 1971, and the chain continued to grow even after Lou's death in 1978. Now with over 40 locations in the Chicago area, its deep dish pizza has become an iconic Windy City tradition.
