With the 137th pick of the NFL Draft this past weekend, the Green Bay Packers took Northwestern defensive end Dean Lowry. He was the first Northwestern player off the board; Dan Vitale was taken by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the sixth round.
Thanks to the official Northwestern Athletics twitter account, per WREX-TV, we have some of Lowry's immediate reaction to getting the call from the Green Bay brass.

It's always cool to see players' professional dreams realized, even if — for Lowry, an Illinois native — it's by the rival of his favorite childhood NFL team, the Chicago Bears. Congrats to Dean. He should be a really good fit in Green Bay, where GM Ted Thompson and head coach Mike McCarthy always seem to get the most out of their players.
