RECAP: This week in Northwestern athletics, June 20-26

Basketball dominated the week's headlines

Jerry Lai-USA TODAY Sports

It wasn't quite the week last week was, but we still got big news on basketball and got back to Pound the Talk, among other things.

Northwestern basketball conference schedule released

Here's the full schedule. The Wildcats get Rutgers twice! They'll also take on Illinois twice. It's pretty favorable overall.

Will Ragatz took a look each game and ranked them in terms of winnability. How many wins do you think NU will get?

Football analysis

After picking up four recruits last week, it was much quieter this week. Still, Martin Oppegaard talked to kicker commit Charlie Kuhbander and wrote about how important his commitment is to the program moving forward.

Northwestern struggled in the field position battle for the third year in a row. Zach Pereles delves into statistics, even if they are for losers.

Athlon Sports named Pat Fitzgerald Division I's 24th-best coach. Ben Goren does not agree.

Most Important Player rankings

We finished up the entire series this week:

NBA news

We did scouting reports on both Alex Olah and Tre Demps. Both went undrafted, but Olah was picked up by New Orleans for the Pelicans Summer League team.
