Former Northwestern goalkeeper Tyler Miller has huge match for Seattle Sounders

The former Wildcat came up big

Former Northwestern goalkeeper Tyler Miller had a huge match for the Seattle Sounders Tuesday night in the team's penalty kick win over Real Salt Lake.

Although the Sounders have struggled in the Major League Soccer season, the team has advanced to the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Quarterfinals thanks to the 23-year-old former Wildcat, who stopped two of Real Salt Lake's three penalties, including one from U.S. Men's National Team mainstay Kyle Beckerman. Miller's teammates converted on all four attempts to put the game out of reach. You can find the complete bracket here.

Miller was outstanding in his time in Evanston, and was drafted by Seattle in late 2015. He made his debut with the team in mid-March of this year but has been stuck behind Stefan Frei for most of the season.
