Former Wildcat Corey Wootton retires from NFL
Corey Wootton is just the latest NFL player to retire before the age of 30. The former Wildcat is leaving the league after a six year run with the Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, and Detroit Lions. Wootton finishes his career with 86 tackles and 12 sacks, but he's most notably known for being the last person to ever sack Brett Favre. However, his college career is highlighted by a first-team All-Big Ten coaches selection and being Northwestern's Most Valuable Player in 2008. Since 2000, no Wildcat has surpassed Wootton's 38 career tackles-for-loss or 19.5 sacks
