News of a 20-game Big Ten season officially broke at Big Ten basketball media day in New York City, but some preseason accolades were also announced: the 10-man preseason All-Big Ten team is out, and Bryant McIntosh and Scottie Lindsey are both on it.

The news shouldn't come as a surprise. McIntosh — a Cousy award watch list player for this season — was a consensus second-team All-Big Ten pick last year, and Linsey was dubbed third team All-league by the coaches and an honorable mention by the media.
McIntosh, along with Miles Bridges and Ethan Happ, was one of three unanimous picks. It's notable that Minnesota point guard Nate Mason, who was a first-team All-Big Ten selection over McIntosh last season (as voted by the coaches), was not a unanimous pick for this season's preseason team.
Northwestern, coming off its best season in school history, was picked to finish fourth in the Big Ten this season, behind Michigan State, Purdue and Minnesota.
Chris Collins's team has some big expectations heading into 2017-2018.
