Northwestern added the newest member of its secondary with Carol Stream, Illinois native Greg Newsome II. Newsome currently attends IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida and was a stellar cornerback for two years at Glenbard North, the same high school that Northwestern great Justin Jackson attended.

Newsome comes in at 6-foot-1 with plenty of speed and on-ball ability. You can see a brief highlight package below.

Newsome chose to play in Evanston over offers from Arkansas, Boston College, Duke, Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State, Minnesota, Purdue, Syracuse, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, Virginia, and Western Michigan, among others. This was a big commitment for Pat Fitzgerald and the Wildcats and shows that Northwestern’s defensive brand is gaining serious recognition.
