After dropping a home game to now-No. 24 Maryland and narrowly escaping a lowly Rutgers team, Northwestern remains unranked in this week’s AP Top 25.
The Wildcats received 25 votes, good for the de facto position of 27th in the nation. Although they continue to rise in the rankings, that total is a decrease from the 60 votes that Northwestern received last week (28th).
Visits to Champaign and Bloomington loom large on the schedule this week, and a 2-0 road trip could potentially vault the Wildcats back into the AP Top 25. With Scottie Lindsey back in the rotation, Northwestern will likely be favored in both of these games. Chris Collins’ team is 2-3 since they were ranked No. 25 three weeks ago.
