Northwestern announced it will host an NCAA Tournament Selection Show watch party at Welsh-Ryan Arena on Sunday afternoon.

Doors will open at 1:30 pm, with the Big Ten Tournament championship game playing on the stadium’s jumbotrons beginning at 2 pm. The Selection Show — where the 68 teams playing in this year’s NCAA Tournament are announced live on-air — will begin at around 4:30 pm.

Parking and admission are free, and there will also be merchandise and concessions available for purchase. Seating will be first-come, first-served.

Further, WGN will host it’s “The Beat” radio show live from Welsh-Ryan.

There is no mention of the team’s presence at the event, according to the University’s press release.

The Wildcats look poised to make their first NCAA Tournament appearance after avoiding a potentially costly upset with a commanding win over Rutgers in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament on Thursday night. The Wildcats face No. 25 Maryland in the quarterfinals Friday night.
