Class of 2018 defensive end Devin O’Rourke out of Frankfort, Illinois (Lincoln-Way East) has committed to Northwestern. He is the top-rated player in the state of Illinois and is Northwestern’s seventh-highest rated recruit since 247 Sports started its rankings.

O’Rourke stands 6-foot-6 and weighs in at 240 pounds. He is rated as the 199th-best player in his class and ninth-best defensive end for 2018. The website gives him a composite rating of .9210.
O’Rourke committed over a plethora of impressive offers, including those from Big Ten potential suitors Illinois, Indiana, Iowa Minnesota, Nebraska, Penn State, Purdue and Wisconsin. Assistant coaches Adam Cushing and Marty Long led his recruitment.
The future for the Northwestern defensive line is bright; O’Rourke joins a talented trio of defensive lineman who head to Evanston for the 2017 season.
O’Rourke is the sixth recruit in the 2018 class and the fourth from the state of Illinois.
