Northwestern vs. Purdue GameThread

For the final game at the current Welsh-Ryan Arena...

Northwestern (21-9, 10-7 Big Ten) looks to close out Welsh-Ryan Arena in stye before wholesale renovations next season, taking on the Big Ten champion Purdue Boilermakers (24-6, 13-4 Big Ten) in front of a national audience on CBS.

The Wildcats are coming off a miraculous finish when Dererk Pardon caught Nathan Taphorn's full-court pass and banked it in as time expired to beat the Michigan Wolverines 67-65. Purdue, meanwhile, claimed the outright conference title earlier this week and is coming off a win over in-state rival Indiana.

Northwestern's 21 wins is a program record, and the 10 conference wins is the most since the 1932-1933 season. Additionally, the win seems to have locked Northwestern into its first ever NCAA Tournament. Northwestern's fans, in turn, have responded to the success, selling out four of the team's final home games, including this one.
