Northwestern football recruiting: Three star linebacker Grayson Mann commits

The Texas product is the 11th commit of the class.

Three star linebacker Grayson Mann from Fort Worth, TX has committed to Northwestern, he announced on Twitter Friday evening.

Mann had offers from Indiana, Nebraska and a host of non-power 5 programs. Like recent commits Jacob Jefferson and Greg Newsome, he was in Evanston for a visit last weekend and while he didn’t commit right away like those two, he did so within a week.

A product of All Saints Episcopal School, Mann becomes the 11th commit of the 2018 class for Pat Fitzgerald, and the third from the state of Texas, after Jefferson and Payne He’Bert. Northwestern has now picked up eight commits from the Lone Star State in its last two recruiting classes.

Mann can play both inside and outside linebacker as well as defensive end, but at 5-foot-11, 210 pounds, projects as an outside linebacker in college.

His tape is below. Mann appears to be quick off the ball and a sound tackler with good instincts.
