The first Amway/USA Today Coaches Poll is out, and the Northwestern Wildcats are outside the top 25. The Wildcats received 25 votes and would be the 35th-best team in terms of votes received.
Here’s the full top 25:

Northwestern has just two opponents in the Top 25 with Penn State at No. 6 and Wisconsin at No. 10. Northwestern received two more votes than Nebraska and is also above Iowa and Minnesota. There are four Big Ten teams in the Top 25 compared to six from the SEC, but at least all four of the Big Ten teams are in the Top 10.
Also, seriously, how does Texas sneak into the Top 25 when Tom Herman hasn’t even coached a game in Austin yet?
