Northwestern released its Week 3 injury report and it appears that the Wildcats’ cornerback depth will be tested once again. Here are the announced injuries from the Week 2 two-deep. Just one so far.
CB Marcus McShepard - Out
McShepard did not make the trip to Duke after suffering an injury to his arm/shoulder Week 1 against Nevada. The senior will not be playing yet on Saturday as the Wildcats host Bowling Green. He’s the No. 3 corner behind Montre Hartage and recently returned Trae Williams. Northwestern’s secondary depth will be tested for the third straight week.
Last week, cornerback Brian Bullock also failed to make the trip to Duke, but he is not listed on the injury report. Pat Fitzgerald also mentioned that Justin Jackson was a bit banged up in last week’s press conference. He’s not on the injury report, but his status should be monitored during the game against Bowling Green. With Northwestern having a bye week after Bowling Green, hopefully the Wildcats can rest some of its players in the second half. Hopefully.
