Well, that couldn’t have gone any better. Ever since the Michigan game, Northwestern has been red hot, picking up some notable wins against Michigan State, Wisconsin, and, as of today, Iowa. It all came together: Northwestern has been crowned champions of the Big Ten West.

Alright, let’s get into some notable tweets (there are some good ones!):

Former ‘Cats:

Anthony Walker Jr. skipped his senior season at Northwestern to enter the NFL draft. The former Northwestern defensive star is currently a linebacker for the Indianapolis Colts. Walker Jr. showed some support:

Brian Peters, Northwestern’s former vocal leader in the defensive secondary, let out some excitement for his alma mater. (If you were wondering, Peters used to dabble in break dancing, and he listens to Thunderstuck by AC/DC before every game.)

After only hauling in six catches in four seasons as a receiver for Northwestern, Coach Pat Fitzgerald offered him a fifth year. Why? Scanlan, also known as “The Bull,” brought the energy, wisdom, and emotion that Fitzgerald wanted around the team. Scanlan, too, is looking forward to the Big Ten Championship.

Justin Jackson the Ball Carrier (now a Los Angeles Charger) joined in on the celebration.

Current ‘Cats:

Alumni:

Medill graduate Mike Greenberg had some fun with it:

ESPN sports business analyst Darren Rovell declared the win well-deserved, and also contributed to the running Alex Spanos “smedium” joke.
