Northwestern’s athletes were definitely ready for the NFL Combine. Safety Godwin Igwebuike had a fantastic NFL Combine showing, placing highly in the 40-yard dash, bench press, 3 cone drill and 60-yard shuttle.
Igwebuike certainly raised his profile at the Combine. He showed the combination of speed, agility and strength that we’ve seen throughout his time at Northwestern and ranked highly against his competition.

Igwebuike is projected to go in the fourth round by draft analysts, but we shall see if his impressive Combine results move him up the board. The Combine showed that Igwebuike clearly has the athletic ability to rival any other strong safety prospect in the draft. The only holdups would be his vertical jump performance, which was still not that bad. He also His measurables came in at 5’ 11’’, 213 pounds with a 31 1⁄4 arm and a 9 3⁄4 hand.
We’re biased, but Igwebuike could be a steal for any NFL team after the first two or three rounds of the NFL Draft.
