Northwestern football’s open practice set for Saturday, April 14 has been cancelled due to inclement weather. Northwestern football was set to showcase its talent this weekend with an open practice and youth clinic at Ryan Field, but with Evanston slated for snow and rain on Saturday morning, the event has been cancelled. The event has not been rescheduled.
Spring practices usually draw a decent crowd (and media availability for us journos), so this is quite a shame. Poor weather has caused a rash of spring football cancellations across the Midwest. Iowa State, Michigan and Wisconsin all cancelled spring games this week due to thunderstorms. Fans in the Chicago area will have to settle for staring at photos of Northwestern’s gleaming new indoor facility and dream of spring, whenever that will be.
