Northwestern snagged the ninth member of its 2019 recruiting class when defensive end Adetomiwa Adebawore announced his committment via Twitter on Tuesday morning. The Kansas City, Mo. native was in Evanston this past weekend and picked up an offer during his visit. He also held offers from Washington State, Navy, and Tulane, among others. Rivals has him has a three-star while 247Sports.com lists him as a two-star recruit.

Adebawore is the fifth commitment Pat Fitzgerald and his staff has received in the past five weeks, and he’s the first defensive lineman in the class of 2019. His highlight tape shows an ability to play all along the defensive line as well as at outside linebacker, though he’ll slot in at defensive end in Mike Hankwitz’s 4-3 scheme.
At 6-foot-3 and 235 pounds, Adebawore is a little undersized, but it’s important to remember Joe Gaziano came to Northwestern at 6-foot-4 and 242 pounds but has bulked up to 280 pounds on a college weight training program.
Here’s a look at Adebawore’s 2017-18 highlights. Purple already looks great on him.
