After a long wait, Godwin Igwebuike is now (finally) officially an NFL player.
The former Northwestern safety, shockingly, went undrafted, but was quickly snapped up by Tampa Bay.
Same team his uncle played for. Congrats, Godwin.#B1GCats | #ProCats pic.twitter.com/FIjAvh03UB

Igbwebuike moves to the NFL after a very accomplished four-year career in Evanston. After redshirting as a freshman, Igwebuike started 44 games for the Wildcats, including every game in each of his final three seasons. He racked up 324 career tackles in his career, as well as seven interceptions and 13 tackles for loss during his Northwestern tenure.
A hard-hitting, ballhawking safety, Igwebuike came up big for the defense on several occasions, including his legendary three-interception performance against Wisconsin as a freshman. His numbers dropped off as a senior, but that was partly because he was asked to drop into coverage more.
