Tyler Lancaster is the latest Northwestern player to get picked up by an NFL team, signing a free agent contract with the Green Bay Packers quickly after the 2018 Draft concluded.

Lancaster captained the Wildcats as a senior, wearing the prestigious No. 1, an honor given to a player who embodies the program’s values. At defensive tackle, he plugged holes in the running game and ate blockers. He often faced double-teams, but still found a way to be effective in the pass-rush at times.
Many have speculated that Lancaster could switch sides of the ball — to the offensive line — in the NFL, but it remains to be seen whether he’ll make that transition. He joins former Northwestern defensive lineman Dean Lowry on the Packers.
