Last year’s matchup with Georgia Tech...did not go well. After an uninspiring start to the season, the Wildcats could not find the basket against a very mediocre Yellow Jacket squad. Needing a resume-boosting win after losses to Texas Tech and Creighton, the Wildcats could not quite get over the top in Atlanta, losing on a Tadric Jackson buzzer-beating layup.
Georgia Tech finished 13-19 (6-12 ACC) last season, bowing out in the first round of the ACC Tournament. The Yellow Jackets last visited Evanston in 2014, topping Northwestern 66-58.
With the matchup against Georgia Tech revealed, 23 of Northwestern’s 31 2018-19 opponents have been announced. The Wildcats will get three games in the Wooden Challenge in Los Angeles, and Chris Collins and his coaching staff will announce five more non-conference opponents.
