Here. We. Go. It’s been a long offseason, people. But football is finally here, and it all starts in West Lafayette for Northwestern. Everyone’s 0-0, every team has hope (except you, Illinois), and nothing has gone wrong yet.

It’s still August, but the Big Ten is already set to get going, with an incredibly important divisional matchup between Northwestern and Purdue. A new season means a new opportunity for Northwestern in the Big Ten West, though that’ll be a tough ask with a schedule as difficult as this one. But, with a primetime season-opener on ESPN to truly kick off the 2018 college football season, NU has a massive opportunity in front of it. There are plenty of questions, one of which is whether its quarterback of four years will even play, but every team has questions, and now’s the time of year where we start getting answers.

Will this season be a special one? Thursday night will go a long way toward determining that. With that in mind, let do this thing...
