Clayton Thorson has etched his name in the Northwestern record books.
With a second-quarter touchdown pass to Cameron Green, the senior logged his 45th career touchdown pass, becoming Northwestern’s all-time program leader in passing touchdowns, one ahead of Brett Basanez and Len Williams.

The toss to Green was Thorson’s first touchdown connection of 2018. Thorson saw the vast majority of the first half reps at quarterback against Akron, going 15-of-20 for 175 yards.
Heading into Saturday’s contest, Thorson was second on Northwestern’s all-time passing leaderboard with 7,918 yards, behing Basanez (10,580).
