Northwestern has a chance to turn its Big Ten season around — and prevent history from being made — when it gets a shot at No. 2 Michigan Sunday evening in Ann Arbor.
The Wolverines have started the season 16-0, one win away from their best start in program history. Before losing to Villanova in the national championship, Michigan’s last loss came Feb. 6, 2018 at Allstate Arena. John Beilein’s squad is 30-1 since that date.
Michigan boasts the most efficient defense in the Big Ten and the fourth-best defense in the country, which doesn’t bode well for a scuffling Wildcat offense. Still, if history is any indication, NU will play Michigan close.
