Minnesota may not be the only one without its starting quarterback for Saturday’s matchup.
On Thursday night, Northwestern released its injury report, which has starting quarterback Aidan Smith listed as doubtful for this weekend’s game. The redshirt junior has started every game for Northwestern since the early October matchup against Nebraska, but that streak looks to be in jeopardy with this news.

With Hunter Johnson removed from the depth chart altogether, one would think that Andrew Marty would get his first career start under center, but honestly, who even knows at this point.
We are still waiting for official word on Kyric McGowan, who was termed “indefinitely” out by Pat Fitzgerald last week and has also been removed from the depth chart.
Northwestern takes on No. 10 Minnesota this Saturday at Ryan Field, with the team looking to pull a massive upset on Senior Day. They will likely have to do so behind a first-time starter.
