Hello everyone, given the fact that Northwestern isn’t in this year’s NCAA tournament once again, I have taken the opportunity to live-blog the entirety of the Friday slate of this year’s first weekend of March Madness (because what else would I spend the first day of my Spring Break doing?) This piece is basically going to be an open-thread with the occasional chiming in from myself to discuss the events of today’s slate of the best weekend of the year! Feel free to drop all hot takes in the comment section below. With that being said, here is how to watch the early slate of games today.
Update: 2:00 CST
Virginia is losing to the Runnin’ Bulldogs of Gardner-Webb, could we see another 16 seed? Will Virginia ever be able to get over the hurdle of being a 1 seed? I know it’s early but we’ll find out and watch the rest of this utter madness unfold.
Sadly Colgate seem to be getting blown out early by Tennessee, they don’t have the firepower to compete with the giant that is the Volunteers.
How to Watch the Early Games
No. 7 Cincinnati vs. No. 10 Iowa - 11:15 AM CST on CBS
No. 8 Ole Miss vs. No. 9 Oklahoma - 11:45 CST on truTV
No. 3 Texas Tech vs. No. 14 Northern Kentucky - 12:30 CST on TNT
No. 4 Kansas State vs. No. 13 UC-Irvine - 1:00 CST on TBS
No. 2 Tennessee vs. No. 15 Colgate - 1:45 on CBS
No. 1 Virginia vs. No. Gardner-Webb - 2:10 on truTV
All games are also streaming live on the March Madness app.
One game on the early slate that I will be keeping a special eye on is Tennessee vs. Colgate because of former Northwestern player Rapolas Ivanauskas. I also have my eye on a potential upset in Kansas State vs. UC-Irvine (announcing this ahead of time could really go one of two ways depending on the result of the game but we will see).
