Chris Collins and his 2014-15 Northwestern squad endured the ignominy of a 10-game Big Ten losing streak. After two 20-win seasons, a NCAA Tournament appearance, and a $110 million arena renovation, the 2018-19 program is in the same place.
The Wildcats (12-17, 3-15 B1G) seek to end their six-week slide Wednesday night against Ohio State (18-11, 8-10). The Buckeyes have lost to Maryland and Purdue and pasted Iowa since defeating Northwestern 63-49 on Feb. 20. It was ugly.
Ohio State appears to be pretty comfortably in the NCAA Tournament field, but tonight’s game is an important opportunity for the Buckeyes to nab their ninth conference win with a date with Wisconsin coming up in the regular season finale.
OSU will be without big man Kaleb Wesson, who is suspended for a violation of athletic department policy. Wesson hung 22 points and eight rebounds on the Wildcats two weeks ago.
