On Thursday evening, three-star guard Joe Bamisile announced his commitment to Northwestern. Bamisile stands 6-foot-5 and excels at both shooting from the outside and getting to the rim.
Four-star guard Joe Bamisile just verbally committed to Northwestern. Bamisile is ranked No. 100 in the Top247. High-level athlete that can score.— Evan Daniels (@EvanDaniels) April 17, 2019
He originally tweeted out his commitment on Twitter, before deleting the post. This caused a bit of a mini-crisis in the world of NU, but Wildcat Report was able to confirm Bamisile’s commitment.
The Richmond native had offers from Florida, Miami, West Virginia and Virginia Tech, among others. Bamisile is the first 2020 commitment that Chris Collins has landed thus far. Northwestern’s class of one currently sits at 18th in the 247Sports ranking system, but there is still a very long way to go in that department.
Here is a sampling of Bamisile’s highlights from two weeks ago:
There is no indication as of yet that Bamisile, a four star by some recruiting services, will reclassify to 2019. The fast-riser, whose recruitment blew up in the past season, may not be prepared to help out a shorthanded Northwestern team as soon as next season. Regardless, another good get from Collins despite the struggles of the past two years is a nice start to this offseason.
