After leading Northwestern to its first final four berth since 2014, stars Selena Lasota, Izzy Scane and Brennan Dwyer were rewarded with berths on the Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association All-America teams.
The impressive trio earned their way on to the first team, second team and third team respectively.

The Wildcats returned to the semifinals of the NCAA tournament this year after going on a run that included handing Maryland its only loss of the season, defeating the Terrapins in the Big Ten Tournament. Maryland exacted its revenge in the NCAA tournament, but NU’s loss didn’t place a dent in its best season in years.
A large source of Northwestern’s success was due to these three stars, who led the team throughout the campaign. Lasota guided Northwestern’s attack, notching 85 goals and 19 assists, while Scane’s arrival in the attack was another reason the ‘Cats found so much success.
The first year amassed 62 goals and 18 assists en route to being unanimously named as the Big Ten Freshman of the Year. Dwyer earned 181 draw controls for NU, setting the team’s single-season draw controls record in the process.
Although Lasota played her final season in purple in 2019, both Scane and Dwyer will return to Evanston next year to try and lead Northwestern back to the top.
