WATCH: Garrett Dickerson collects first professional touchdown reception

The hard-working former superback will remember this moment against the Bears for the rest of his life.

Just two days ago, Clayton Thorson bounced back from a nightmare outing with his first career NFL touchdown pass amidst an impressive performance in game two of the Eagles’ preseason.

On Friday night, against the Chicago Bears, his former superback and security blanket matched the feat. Despite playing in all four preseason games and four regular season games for the Giants during his rookie season, it took Garrett Dickerson until the first week of the 2019 preseason to record his first professional catch.

Quickly, though, Thorson’s new divisional rival took things to the next level with this impressive catch in traffic:

The New Jersey native has had an impressive preseason thus far, showing that he can make plays with his hands despite being tagged primarily as a blocking tight end in 2018.

Dickerson, who finished his Northwestern career with 87 catches for 887 yards and nine touchdowns, looks to be on track to stick with his hometown team for another year (and maybe even see his role increase) thanks in large part to his oft-praised work ethic and willingness to do what is necessary to help his team win.
