Northwestern football’s 2021 slate of opponents is set.
The Indiana State Sycamores will be the Wildcats’ third and final non-conference opponent, according to a tweet sent out Friday by Todd Aaron Golden of the Tribune-Star newspaper in Indiana.
Some football scheduling news. ISU will swap out West Virginia to play at Northwestern in 2021. That means ISU will be back on the Big Ten train from 2021 to at least 2027 with Purdue and Indiana alternating years starting in 2022. Not official yet, but expected to be.

The FCS school and alma mater of Larry Bird rounds out Northwestern’s 2021 non-conference schedule, joining Duke (away) and Ohio (home).
The schedule is not yet updated to include the Sycamores, but here’s the Wildcats complete list of foes for 2021.

Ohio and Indiana State certainly doesn’t make for the most exciting home non-conference slate, but NU will need all the help they can get that season with trips to Nebraska, Wisconsin and Michigan as part of their Big Ten schedule.
Thoughts on the Sycamores coming to Evanston?
