Northwestern and Michigan State will kickoff at 11:00 a.m on Sept. 21, the program announced on Monday. The game will also be broadcasted on ABC.

This game serves as both team’s conference opener for 2019 as the Wildcats and Spartans meet in their annual Big Ten West/East crossover game. NU has taken three straight victories over Sparty in the program’s last three years.

The matchup will take place in the middle of Northwestern’s orientation week for all first-year students and will therefore be the first 2019 home game with the majority of undergraduate students on campus. It’s hard to believe Ryan Field will be too crowded for this week’s matchup against UNLV, but there should be a decent turnout for this matchup against a Michigan State team that will likely be ranked headed to Evanston in a couple weeks.

It would have been nice to see this game get another time slot with Wisconsin and Michigan also kicking off at 11:00 a.m on Sept. 21, but the fact that the ‘Cats are getting on ABC is still a win.
