Coming off of their first ranking since January of 2016, Northwestern (16-2, 6-1 Big Ten) is headed to East Lansing tonight to tangle with the Spartans (11-7, 4-3) for the first time this season.
The Wildcats, who split a pair of matchups with Michigan State last season, upsetting then-#15 MSU at home before getting blown out by them in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament, head out on the first leg of a tough weekend road trip tonight at 5:30 pm CST.
Veronica Burton, newly named to the 15-player Naismith watch list for the NCAA Defensive Player of the Year award, and Abi Scheid, reigning Big Ten Player of the Week, will lead Northwestern into action against a youthful Michigan State squad coming off of its biggest win of the season Monday night against Rutgers.
