Playoff time is here, and there are five former Northwestern players who are on playoff teams. On Wild Card weekend, only Ifeadi Odenigbo of the Vikings was in action as the other four #ProCats — members of the Green Bay Packers — had a bye. So, Ifeadi, this one’s for you!
Ifeadi Odenigbo - DE, Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings stunned the heavily favored Saints on the road in overtime, and Minnesota’s defensive line played a major role. Mike Zimmer’s defense held the high-flying New Orleans offense to 20 points and 324 total yards, sacked Drew Brees thrice and forced two turnovers. Odenigbo didn’t record any tackles over his 22 snaps, but he did register a quarterback hit on Brees, who was under plenty of duress.
The second-year was the only player besides Everson Griffen and Danielle Hunter to register a hit on the veteran. His Vikings will move on to face the top-seeded San Francisco 49ers, while the Green Bay Packers, home to the other four still-active Pro ‘Cats, clash at Lambeau with the Seattle Seahawks.
