While Northwestern football returned this past weekend to the joy and relief of fans everywhere, just four Pro ‘Cats took the field the next day with several players either on byes or inactive.
Justin Jackson: Los Angeles Chargers, RB
JJTBC split backfield duties with Joshua Kelley in their squad’s 39-29 home victory over Gardner Minshew’s Jacksonville Jaguars. Jackson rushed for only 12 yards on five carries, with 11 of those coming on one play. However, the third-year back also contributed in the passing game, hauling in 5 catches for 43 yards and proving effective on screen plays.

If only the Chargers utilized him more! In other news, fellow Bolt Joe Gaziano remains on the active roster but did not see any snaps on Sunday.

Lowry played a solid game as the Packers downed the Texans 35-20. He recorded two tackles and helped anchor a defensive front which limited Houston to 89 rushing yards.
Week 8 matchup: vs. Minnesota Vikings, 12:00 p.m. CT
Tyler Lancaster: Green Bay Packers, DE
The other former ‘Cat up at Lambeau, Lancaster did not see the field on Sunday due to a shoulder injury suffered in Green Bay’s week six loss, which kept him out of practice all week.
Week 8 matchup: vs. Minnesota Vikings, 12:00 p.m. CT
Austin Carr: New Orleans Saints, WR

Activated from New Orleans’ practice squad ahead of its matchup against Carolina, Carr recorded his first catch of the season on his only target in the Saints’ 27-24 victory. The Saints are thin at the wideout position with the absences of Michael Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders, so Carr might see more snaps in the coming weeks.
Week 8 matchup: at Chicago Bears, 3:25 p.m. CT
Sherrick McManis of the Chicago Bears was inactive for Monday night’s tilt against the Rams. The Indianapolis Colts and Minnesota Vikings both had byes this week, meaning no Anthony Walker, Jr. or Ifeadi Odenigbo. Walker leads his squad to a tilt with the Lions while Odenigbo will face off against former teammates Lancaster and Lowry as the Vikings take on the Packers next Sunday at noon.
