For one final time in the 2020 season, it’s game day eve for Northwestern. Accordingly, it’s time for one more uniform announcement from the team before the Wildcats take on Auburn in the Vrbo Citrus Bowl on New Year’s Day.

For its bowl matchup, the team, led by this year’s uniform selector Ramaud Chiaokhiao-Bowman, opted to sport Northwestern’s traditional school colors, purple and white. The uniform is the inverse of what the ‘Cats donned in the Big Ten Championship against Ohio State, featuring a white helmet, pants and cleats and a purple jersey.
According to The Daily Northwestern’s Ella Brockway, Northwestern is 3-3 in this combo since 2012, with its most recent appearance coming in last year’s last-second loss to Purdue. Additionally, Brockway reported that this is the first time a white facemask, which has become somewhat of a fan favorite this season, has been featured in the white-purple-white combination.
And the bittersweet day has arrived: The final uniform intel of my Daily Northwestern career!
