Moving forward at Inside NU

Here’s what we are planning to do over the rest of the spring, and the involvement we will need from you to do it.

After essentially taking the last week off (excluding Daniel Olinger’s great series of polls to determine the best Northwestern football team of all time, the last of which went up today, and a couple of women’s basketball news hits) due to coronavirus-related uncertainty and upheaval, we here at Inside NU will be headed back to as regular of a schedule as possible starting tomorrow.

Over the course of the next week, we are planning to delve into our player reviews for both women’s and men’s basketball, while also working on some season recaps for all of the spring and winter sports that were so unfortunately cut short.

As we move forward from there, we will be looking to report out some more thorough pieces on women’s basketball (and their seniors) in particular, who had the best basketball season in program history come to a premature end, but also the rest of the confusion and heartbreak that this pandemic has wrought in the world of Northwestern sports.

As of now, we have not received communication from the athletic department, and are as such unable to get into contact with active players and coaches, but we anticipate that changing at some point in the near future as the nationwide situation (and the university’s spring quarter plans) come into focus.

Until then, as we work on some regularly-scheduled content, we’d love to hear from our readers. What kind of things are you looking for in this strange, new, sports-on-hold world? More Northwestern-related brackets? Watch alongs of memorable games? Historical retrospectives? Whatever it is you, as fans of the site, are looking for, let us know and we will do our best to get to work on it.

We are living in uncertain times, and just about nothing is more uncertain than the world of sports. But after taking a much-needed week to settle things down, we here at Inside NU are ready to move forward, albeit into a shifted landscape and with a different cycle of spring content ahead of us than any we have faced in the site’s history.

We hope you come along for the ride.
