Gamethread, how to watch Northwestern-Penn State: TV, Radio, Streaming, Line

One last time at Welsh-Ryan.

NCAA Basketball: Maryland at Penn State Matthew O’Haren-USA TODAY Sports

The regular season finally comes to a close today at Welsh-Ryan Arena against no. 20 Penn State (21-9, 11-8 B1G). The ‘Cats will look to pull off an upset here on senior day for their leaders A.J. Turner, Pat Spencer and Tino Malnati.

Beside the normal motivations to win and go out on a high-note, the only tangible benefit Northwestern has to gain from a win today would be to lock in their spot in the Big Ten Tournament as the 13 seed, which would result in a matchup with Minnesota in Indianapolis.

For NU to drop to the 14 seed would take a very unlikely upset of those same Gophers by the Nebraska Cornhuskers in Minneapolis tomorrow at noon on BTN.

Penn State isn’t riding as high as they were during their eight-game win streak earlier this season, where they vaulted all the way up to nine in the AP rankings. In fact, since their last game against Northwestern, the Nittany Lions have lost four out of five, including the current two-game losing streak they are on.

Of course, Northwestern itself has lost 13 of its last 14 games, and would need an incredible performance today to get the win.

Here’s how you can catch the action.
