He’s back.
Freshman phenom Beni Keown returns to the national stage today to compete in the semifinals of the Jeopardy! College Championship, just days after his debut. Although he finished second in his quarterfinal matchup, his impressive earnings of $15,800 was enough to secure him a wildcard berth in the next round.
Keown’s charisma and iconic hair have launched him to celebrity status on Twitter, where’s he’s been lauded by Internet personalities Pat McAfee and Harry Knowles, among others. Needless to say, the Wildcat community has too rallied behind Keown, who’s now the face of Northwestern during this time of absence of sports.
Keown will face Indiana University senior Tyler Combs and University of Florida sophomore Kayla Kalhor with a spot in the finals on the line. Because we’re now a Jeopardy! publication, we’ll be live tweeting the whole thing. Here’s how to tune in:
