Hubbard chose NU over offers from many Big Ten foes like Minnesota, Purdue and Michigan State and other Power Five schools such as Duke, Virginia, Boston College and Washington State. The Wildcats offered him February 24.
According to his Hudl profile, Hubbard is listed at 6-foot-4, 225 lbs, and per 247 Sports, has started varsity for the last two years for Cleveland St. Ignatius High School.
The three-star has a 247Sports composite rating of .8579 and is listed as the 31st-best player in Ohio. According to WildcatReport, Hubbard was recruited as a defensive end because of his size.
He is the sixth commit and second defensive player of the 2021 Northwestern class, joining Mac Uihlein, Caleb Tiernan, Brendan Sullivan, Josh Thompson and Donnie Gray. The class’ average composite rating is .8570, which currently ranks 45th in the country, though it is early in the recruiting cycle.
