BREAKING: Northwestern adds four-star Najee Story to 2021 recruiting class

The Ohio native is Northwestern’s seventh 2021 commit

Najee Story, a four-star defensive end from Solon, Ohio, committed to Northwestern via Twitter this morning.

Story, who announced Northwestern as one of his top five schools just two weeks ago, picked Northwestern over Big Ten blue bloods such as Ohio State, Penn State and Michigan. Alabama, Notre Dame, and West Virginia also handed offers to Story.

According to Rivals, Story is the 195th ranked player in his recruiting class and eighth in the state of Ohio. Just eight months ago, in September, Story was ranked as a top 75 recruit nationally. It is unclear why his ranking fell.

Story is listed at 6’3’’ and 230 pounds. Yesterday, another Cleveland-area native, three-star linebacker/defensive end Aidan Hubbard committed to Northwestern. With these two commitments occurring in back-to-back days, it appears that ‘Cats defensive-line coach Marty Long’s recruiting efforts along the Ohio pipeline are paying off.

Story marks the seventh commitment in Northwestern’s 2021 recruiting class. After Hubbard’s commitment yesterday, the 2021 recruiting class ranked 45th nationally. Now, with Story’s commitment, 247 Sports ranks the Wildcats 2021 class 34th in the nation. Story is the highest-ranked player in Northwestern’s Class of 2021 and its third four-star, joining linebacker Mac Uihlein and offensive tackle Caleb Tiernan.

Story’s sophomore season highlights can be viewed below and his junior season highlights can be seen here:
