Hailing from the nearby North Shore suburb of Northbrook, Carsello is the third OL in the class, joining Michiganders Caleb Tiernan and Josh Thompson. 247sports gives the three-star a 0.8466 composite rating, which ranks him the 28th-best player in Illinois and 96th-best offensive tackle in the nation.
NU is getting a Big Ten-ready body. Carsello comes in at 6-foot-4 and 270 pounds. According to WildcatReport, he weight 195 pounds while playing left tackle as a sophomore, and he’s added 35 pounds since the start of the 2019 season.
The interior guard received over 30 offers, but playing for a school which he grew up rooting for was a dealmaker, per WildcatReport.
