In light of a global pandemic and the absence of sports, we thought it would be a great opportunity to try something new. This is Wildcat Banter: an interview based podcast series with a new Wildcat athlete on each installment. Jackson Boolbol and Lucio Vainesman co-host each episode, taking a deep dive in the lives of Northwestern athletes and addressing their craft at hand.
In our inaugural episode, we chatted with Ryan Young, the starting center for Northwestern’s men’s basketball team. We sat down with Young a couple of weeks ago, and he gave us an inside look into his quarantine workout regimen as well as how the team has stayed connected during isolation. We discuss Young’s ascension from a redshirt freshman to starting center by his second year and take a close look at the team’s young talent and what they have in store.
