On Sunday, however, an Ohio State goal in the ninth minute led to a shutout for the ‘Cats, despite Northwestern outshooting the Buckeyes 14-9. They will play their final game of the regular season at home against Illinois before beginning postseason conference play on April 8 at the location of the higher-seeded team.
The men’s team dropped games against Indiana and Maryland by 3-0 and 2-1 margins. The home matchup against the Terps was head coach Tim Lenahan’s final home match, as he announced before the season that he would retire at the end of the year. They will finish up their regular season at Rutgers on Sunday and wait to see what the postseason may have in store.
