The 6-foot-2 athlete out of Glendora, California, also had offers from Michigan State, UC Berkely, Arizona and Colorado according to 247 Sports and is now the fifth commit of Northwestern’s 2022 class alongside offensive linemen Nick Herzog and Danny McGuire, tight end Chris Petrucci and wide receiver Reggie Fleurima. This commitment has also elevated NU up to having 247’s 44th overall ranked ‘22 class and the ninth-best in the Big Ten.
Listed as an athlete on his recruiting page, it’s not yet known what position Brus is expected to come in at for Northwestern, though given that linebackers coach Tim McGarigle is listed as his main recruiter on 247, that may be an early indication that Pat Fitzgerald and co. expect to use him as an LB along the defensive side of the ball.
After Herzog, Brus is now the second commit of the class of 2022 to come from outside the state of Illinois.
