Northwestern opened up their football season Friday night against the Michigan State Spartans... and it didn’t go so well. The Wildcats fell 38-21 under the lights of Ryan Field, continuously torched by new Spartan running back Kenneth Walker III. Walker finished with 264 rushing yards and the ‘Cats fell to MSU for their third year in a row.
Many fans knew there would be a learning curve for a Northwestern defense sporting seven new starters and a new defensive coordinator, but the result is concerning nonetheless. Is this a preview of how 2021 will look for the ‘Cats? Is this just their typical forgettable September loss?
NU Takes discusses how Northwestern needs to improve and where to go from here.
